Speaking Easy - How dare you do this to my boy

(By Melody Werner)

I have not seen Black Widow. I'm not going to endanger folks by going to a theater, and I'm not going to subscribe to Disney+ for the privilege of giving the Mouse even more money. That said, I, uh, don't really care about the film regardless. I'll be upfront about that. What I do care about is this awful costume design for one of comicdom's funnest antivillains: Taskmaster.

Taskmaster is not a character who needs this generic, "realistic" redesign treatment. Crossbones didn't need it either, but I digress. His costume in the comics already holds up perfectly fine in the real world. He's a guy who runs around in a skull mask and white cloak/hood. Did he truly need to be mutated into a shitty, off-brand Beetleborgs grunt? For those unfamiliar, this is how he looks in the comics:

Taskmaster is a great character, and his design in the comics works. Walt Disney, how dare you do this injustice to my precious boy?
